How Long Does Sea Freight from China to Malaysia Take?
The short answer: sea freight normally arrives 12–16 working days after payment, and air freight 3–5 working days. But the total wait also includes the seller shipping to our warehouse, waiting for your parcels to arrive and packing. This guide explains what happens at each stage, what slows shipments down and how to get your parcels sooner.
Transit times at a glance
| Mode | Typical time (after payment) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sea (Sea Express, Sea Self Pickup, Cubic Sea Freight) | 12–16 working days | Every channel tax-included, normal and sensitive goods same rate |
| Air | 3–5 working days | Air orders paid before 9 pm ship the same day |
| Remote areas in other states | About 3 days on top of the above | Depends on the delivery area |
Typical times in working days, counted from payment. Sailing schedules, flights or bad weather can shift them; the actual situation always applies.
Every stage from order to delivery
- The seller ships to the MYBEST Guangzhou warehouse: this depends on the seller and the China domestic courier; check the tracking on the shopping site.
- Warehouse check-in: once the seller shows the parcel as delivered, it is normally checked in within 2 hours, with its weight and photo.
- Waiting for your parcels and submitting the consolidation order: you decide which parcels to combine, so this step is in your hands.
- Packing, weighing and freight calculation: the warehouse works from 9 am to 10 pm.
- Payment and dispatch: the times in the table above start here.
- Sea transport and customs clearance: the goods are shipped to Malaysia, and every sea channel is tax-included.
- Local delivery or pickup: Sea Express goes to your door by courier, Cubic Sea Freight by lorry driver, and Sea Self Pickup is collected at a pickup point.
What can slow a shipment down
- Sailing schedules, weather and other events outside our control can shift the overall timing.
- Remote, island or hill areas in other states may take about 3 days longer and may carry an extra delivery fee.
- Sensitive or branded goods sent through a normal channel may be held or returned and must be resent, with new freight, on a sensitive channel.
- An incomplete delivery address or phone number can cause a failed delivery, and a second Cubic Sea Freight delivery is charged again.
How to get your parcels sooner
- Submit the consolidation order as soon as your parcels are in and pay promptly; verify your mobile number before paying.
- Send urgent items separately by air and the rest by sea to save both time and money.
- Choose the correct normal or sensitive channel from the start so nothing is held and resent.
- Give a complete delivery address and a phone number you answer, and follow the status on the tracking page.
Frequently asked questions
When does the sea transit time start?
From payment and dispatch of the order; it does not include the time for the seller to ship to the warehouse or for your parcels to arrive.
Does East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak) take longer?
Remote areas in other states may take about 3 days longer than usual, and some islands and mountain areas in East Malaysia cannot be served, so ask before you order.
